Hey Captain Kris, I Have a Question!
Answers to the most commonly asked questions prior to your trip
I've never hired a Captain before; how does all of this work?
A common question, actually. We are structured for private charters, meaning the boat belongs only to your group (or just yourself). You have the Captain's complete attention to ensure the best experience & the charter is designed for you to walk-on / walk-off and not worry about anything. The process is very easy!
Can we bring alcoholic beverages?
Yes. I have no problem with alcoholic beverages as long as there are no glass containers.
Can we keep our fish?
Absolutely! Provided they are within regulations. Your catch will be cleaned and bagged after your trip.
Do I need a fishing license?
No. All licenses & necessary permits are provided.
What do I need to bring?
Much of this is weather dependent but, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen (please avoid the spray), and snacks. We always provide bottled water for you. Also, bring a cooler for your fish fillets. Most importantly...a mindset that you're going to have a great time!
What should I make sure NOT to bring?
Glass containers, black sole (hard rubber) shoes (marks the boat up), enormous body-sized coolers. They just won't fit!
Can I book a large group?
Yes. Absolutely love these trips! Corporate trips, family gatherings, birthday & retirement parties are just some of the amzing opportunities to build camaraderie, memories, some friendly competition. If your group is over 5 people, we will coordinate with other top-notch captains to ensure an amzing trip. Just give me a call!
I'm not sure if I will get seasick. What should I do?
Hey, it happens; inshore & offshore. If you are unsure of whether you are prone to motion sickness, assume that you are. Take Bonine (Meclizine) or other meds ***12hrs in advance and AGAIN 30 mins before the trip!*** This will help ensure everyone has a great time.
What kind of fishing will we be doing?
This depends on your desires and whether they match up with what is possible based on the season or weather. Many times, clients will tell me they want to have a great time and leave it up to me. But, if there is something specific you are seeking, talk to me!
Do I tip and how much?
Tips are always appreciated and 15% - 20% is the norm if you had a great time. Unlike most of the service industry, we guide you through unique experiences for 4hrs - 8hrs at a time.
